About the Role

Lead the molecular services team, create the scientific vision and overall direction of the Precision for Medicine (PFM) laboratory molecular services business unit. Formulate and implement a strategic scientific plan, including technology assessment, to support translational research and deliver innovative services to global biopharmaceutical clients. Responsible for the design, development, and validation of molecular assays, and managing the team to ensure efficient organization and execution of experiments.

Responsibilities

Lead the molecular services team.
Create the scientific vision and overall direction of the Precision for Medicine (PFM) laboratory molecular services business unit.
Formulate and implement a strategic scientific plan, including technology assessment.
Support translational research to help PFM achieve its goals.
Deliver innovative services to Precision’s global biopharmaceutical clients.
Design, develop, and validate molecular assays.
Manage assigned team to ensure efficient organization and execution of experiments.
Generate high-quality data.
Implement molecular services, including DNA methylation and other epigenetic approaches.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Genomics/Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cellular/Cancer Biology, Immunology or other related field.
At least 18 years of relevant laboratory experience in Molecular Biology.
At least 10 years of leadership experience.
ISO 15189 laboratory experience.
Solid understanding of current GxP/ISO/ standards.
Expert level technical and scientific skills for molecular technologies such as NGS, qPCR, nucleic acid extraction and quantification etc.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Experience supervising scientific staff as direct reports.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to organize and analyze data, as well as prepare reports.
Strong computational skills, preferably experienced with Word, Excel, Power Point, GraphPad and Prism.
Next generation sequencing (NGS) experience using a variety of technologies.
Excellent use of judgement and discretion.
Extended work hours may be occasionally necessary to meet business demands.
Able to read, write, speak fluently and comprehend the English and German language.
Demonstrated skills in various molecular scientific assays.
Clinical trial knowledge especially in oncology.
