About the Role

The Learning Designer, Education contributes to the continuous improvement of learning and teaching by providing expertise in learning design, contemporary pedagogy, and digital education. The position supports the development of high-quality online, blended and face-to-face learning experiences, working collaboratively to advance the University's educational objectives and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with academics and Academic Developers to design and enhance evidence-informed courses and programs that demonstrate constructive alignment, assessment integrity and high-quality learning design.
• Design and support inclusive, accessible and digitally enabled learning and assessment experiences across online, blended and face-to-face delivery, aligned with University policy, TEQSA requirements and sector best practice.
• Integrate educational technologies and embed AI-aware approaches to enhance student learning, including digital and AI-literacies, support academic integrity and improve the student learning experience.
• Evaluate and continuously improve curriculum and learning design using evidence, student feedback and quality assurance processes to support student success, accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Foster collaboration and capability across the University by facilitating communities of practice, sharing expertise and contributing to learning and teaching innovation.
• Build effective stakeholder relationships, maintain current knowledge of emerging trends in learning design and educational technology, and comply with University policies and other duties as required.

Requirements

• Preferable qualifications in education, learning design, instructional design or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and professional experience.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with academic staff and stakeholders to design, develop and enhance curriculum, learning experiences and assessment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary learning design, curriculum development and evidence-informed pedagogical practice, including constructive alignment, assessment design and inclusive learning.
• Experience designing engaging, accessible and inclusive learning experiences across online, blended and face-to-face environments, supported by effective use of Learning Management Systems, preferably Blackboard Ultra.
• Highly developed communication, interpersonal and consultative skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and translate educational concepts into practical solutions.
• Applicants are expected to have current and valid work rights in Australia.
