About the Role
This position is based at our Tokyo headquarters and focuses on mission design and execution for future lunar and cislunar transportation, lunar infrastructure development, and services utilizing lunar orbiting satellites. The goal is to translate conceptual business plans into tangible hardware specifications and ultimately into actual services. You will report directly to the New Business Development Director and will be responsible for a portion or all of the following: architecture design for each business, lobbying to realize these designs, and initiating missions involving private companies and academia, including non-space companies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct market research and company analysis.
- Develop business plans.
- Examine hardware architecture.
- Engage in public relations and lobbying with the government.
- Propose plans to companies and governments, manage projects, and provide regular reports.
- Form consortia.
- Prepare bid and proposal documents.
- Manage projects post-acquisition, including stakeholder negotiations.
- Conduct technical reviews post-acquisition, primarily focusing on requirement definition, compliance verification, and vendor requirement specification.
- Contribute to insurance strategy.
- Contribute to rocket strategy, including communication with launch providers.
- Contribute to improving spacecraft production systems, particularly from the perspective of government and corporate collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher.
- Over 5 years of practical experience in program management, design and development (any field), or business planning within the aerospace industry.
- Understanding of spacecraft and the space environment.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including private companies, internal departments, and government/public organizations.
- Practical experience in proposal activities, sales strategy, and contract acquisition for products/services.
- Ability to work closely with engineering and sales teams in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Native Japanese proficiency.
- English ability at a conversational level (willingness to communicate in English is sufficient).
- Strong interest in the space industry and lunar development.
- Proactive in improving work efficiency or possess strengths in operational improvement.
- Ability to explain complex issues logically, concisely, and clearly.
