About the Role
Join our Front Office team as a full-time Front Desk Agent at the AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, located in the heart of UT Campus.
Responsibilities
- Greet and register guests, providing prompt and courteous service.
- Check guests out of the hotel.
- Resolve guest challenges throughout their stay.
- Promote hotel services, amenities, and upsell products.
- Answer the hotel telephone and direct calls.
- Clearly communicate hotel information and emergencies to guests.
- Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system.
- Make appropriate room selections based on guest needs.
- Code electronic keys and confirm room number and rate.
- Provide welcome packets with room keys and tokens of appreciation.
- Ensure rooms and services are correctly accounted for on guest statements.
- Accept and record various forms of payment.
- Greet customers with a friendly and sincere welcome.
- Respond to guest requests and provide accurate information.
- Receive and appropriately handle special requests.
- Promptly answer telephone and email inquiries.
- Input messages into the computer and advise team members of special guest needs.
- Retrieve mail, packages, and other items for customers.
- Field guest complaints, conduct research, and develop solutions.
- Listen and assist in resolving problems such as price conflicts or service issues.
- Remain calm and alert during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity.
- Plan and implement detailed steps using judgment and discretion.
- Answer incoming calls and direct callers to the appropriate extension or room.
- Verify guest names for all room calls.
- Assist guests with directions or other required information.
- Direct hotel staff to assist guests upon request.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with callers.
- Input or write messages using proper grammar and spelling.
- Handle urgent matters or emergencies for guests and the hotel.
- Document all emergencies appropriately.
- Attempt to communicate with guests in their native language, if applicable.
- Operate various office machines.
Requirements
- Considerable skill in the use of a calculator to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations without error.
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, requiring patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
- Applicants must have valid and legal work authorization in the United States.
