Responsibilities
- Compile rundowns and assist in live show output from the control room, coordinating with pilots, TDs, hosts, reporters, and guests.
- Utilize editing software to cut grabs and overlays for program enhancement.
- Create graphics to support host arguments.
- Adhere to Sky News quality control standards and company policies.
- Ensure content is legally safe and complies with broadcasting codes.
- Gain exposure to various aspects of television production including leadership, creativity, writing, chasing, and talent management.
Requirements
- Newsroom experience is desired.
- Ability to master software for TV program production.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Australian politics and current affairs.
- Good understanding of global news events.
- Ability to write eye-catching and accurate headline straps.
- Capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new working practices, and contribute to new programs.
- Must be able to work in the office.
- Healthy knowledge of Sky News products is essential.
- Understanding of broadcasting codes and relevant laws.
