About the Role

Coordinate and teach units across the School of Nursing and Midwifery, delivering high-quality learning experiences that support student progression in undergraduate and graduate diploma programs. Prepare contemporary learning materials, assess student performance, and provide timely, constructive feedback. Contribute to program and curriculum development, and engage with students through School and University activities. Build a scholarly, research, and professional profile in line with School or Institute priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and teach units across the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
  • Deliver high-quality learning experiences that support student progression in undergraduate and graduate diploma programs.
  • Prepare contemporary learning materials.
  • Assess student performance.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback that improves learning outcomes.
  • Contribute to program and curriculum development in your discipline.
  • Work closely with academic colleagues and professional staff to maintain quality and relevance.
  • Engage with students through School and University activities.
  • Participate in meetings and outreach events that strengthen student engagement.
  • Build your scholarly, research, and professional profile in line with School or Institute priorities.
  • Plan and progress research or scholarship through to outputs.
  • Contribute to publications.
  • Support funding applications.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen discipline connections.

Requirements

  • Hold an Honours Degree or be progressing towards a higher qualification in Nursing or a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and professional experience.
  • Hold current professional registration, or be eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse in Australia, with a relevant governing body (e.g. AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience delivering engaging, high-quality tertiary teaching using contemporary approaches.
  • Experience in designing and delivering outreach across diverse education settings.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with community and industry partners.
  • Demonstrated research activity, or the capacity to progress work through to publications and outputs.
  • Experience, or the potential, to supervise honours or higher degree research students.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, including contributing to cross-disciplinary research proposals.
  • Must have a current NSW Employee Working with Children Clearance in accordance with the NSW Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012.
  • Must provide evidence of full-time working rights in Australia at application.
