About the Role
Red Hat IT is seeking a Software Engineer to develop domain-centric, cloud-native HTTP and messaging APIs, as well as web applications for training customers and partners. This role involves full-stack development with a focus on back-end and system integrations, collaborating with local and remote teams on enterprise API management and integration solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leverage AI tools to automate code generation and routine testing.
- Design, develop, document, test, maintain, and operate message-based middleware and HTTP services.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java and Python applications, and RESTful web services.
- Document use cases and create physical and logical data models.
- Analyze and implement business requirements in collaboration with domain experts.
- Standardize OpenShift deployment and operational patterns, tooling, and shared libraries.
- Design database schemas, indexes, and transaction boundaries.
- Automate infrastructure management best practices using OpenShift/Ansible/RHEV/OpenStack.
- Evaluate open source solutions to meet business needs.
- Participate in periodic L3 application support rotation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in object-oriented analysis and design.
- 6+ years of experience in Java, including Spring and Maven.
- 6+ years of experience using Oracle, MySQL (or Maria), and/or Mongo.
- 6+ years of experience developing applications in an agile development environment.
- 6+ years of experience with distributed source control tools like Git or Mercurial.
- 6+ years of experience with continuous integration tools and processes.
- 6+ years of experience working in an Agile team environment.
- 6+ years of experience working with distributed source control such as Git, including branching and merging.
- Ability to work without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
