About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Accountant to support our North American operations. This role involves ensuring local compliance requirements, including SOX, and maintaining strict adherence to quality and attention to detail. You will work as part of a small, high-performing team, acting as an 'all-rounder' with a diverse skillset and excellent communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Accountant with the monthly closing process, including reconciliation of prepayments, fixed assets, bank accounts, and revaluation of foreign currency assets and liabilities.
- Manage payroll for US and Canada operations.
- Set up clients and job estimates in the accounting system.
- Collaborate with production and sales teams to agree on job budgets and raise client invoices.
- Follow up on overdue accounts receivable invoices with internal sales and directly with clients.
- Review new supplier requests to ensure they meet SOX guidelines.
- Prepare and submit monthly HST.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of relevant working experience.
- Competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
