About the Role

Step into a senior underwriting role where your expertise can shape outcomes for customers, brokers and the business. As a Senior Property Underwriter, you'll assess complex ISR property risks, make confident decisions and build trusted relationships across the broker market. You'll balance commercial thinking with strong risk management while helping drive portfolio performance and customer success. Along the way, you'll share your knowledge, support colleagues and contribute to a highly experienced team that values collaboration, growth and delivering great outcomes when they matter most.

Responsibilities

Assess and underwrite moderate to complex ISR property risks, determining appropriate coverage, conditions and pricing within business strategy and risk appetite.
Build and strengthen relationships with brokers and intermediary partners, creating opportunities and delivering a high standard of service.
Collaborate with account management and business development teams to support customer retention, growth and new business opportunities.
Apply underwriting strategies to target markets and accounts while maintaining sound portfolio performance and profitability.
Provide technical guidance, referral support and coaching to underwriters and broader business teams.
Manage risk and underwriting decisions in line with regulatory requirements, underwriting standards and delegated authority levels.

Requirements

5+ years underwriting experience with strong capability in commercial property risk analysis, selection and pricing of complex insurance risks.
Proven knowledge and deep understanding of the ISR Wording / Product, industry trends and the regulatory environment.
Ability to make sound decisions, often within tight timeframes and with incomplete information.
Strong broker and intermediary relationship management skills, with a customer focused approach and a proven ability to build and maintain trusted partnerships.
Experience developing relationships with international brokers will be highly regarded.
Experience balancing commercial outcomes with disciplined portfolio and risk management.
Confidence providing technical guidance, referral support and coaching to colleagues.
