About the Role
Samsung Electronics Australia is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide advice on a broad range of legal matters, including corporate, commercial, employment, insolvency, securities, competition, consumer, intellectual property, privacy, and litigation. The role involves negotiating, reviewing, and drafting agreements, as well as reviewing marketing materials and assisting with the company's legal compliance program.
Responsibilities
- Providing advice on general corporate and commercial matters.
- Providing advice on employment law.
- Providing advice on insolvency and securities law.
- Providing advice on competition and consumer laws.
- Providing advice on intellectual property.
- Providing advice on privacy.
- Providing advice on general litigation matters.
- Negotiating, reviewing, and drafting agreements for all levels of the business.
- Reviewing marketing, website, and Facebook materials.
- Assisting with the day-to-day operations of Samsung Legal compliance program.
- Ongoing preparation of compliance-related training materials.
- Providing face-to-face training for staff on compliance issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years PQE.
- Previous experience in corporate and commercial law, employment law, insolvency and securities law, competition and consumer laws, intellectual property, privacy, and general litigation.
- Experience gained in a top-tier law firm or in-house environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle matters independently in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- Experience in dealing with all staffing levels and management.
- Ability to work as part of a close-knit team and share knowledge.
