About the Role
Okta is seeking a Social Media Designer to establish the creative standard for the company's social media presence. This role involves translating complex identity and security narratives into engaging, platform-native content for a senior, technical audience.
Responsibilities
- Lead design for organic social channels from concept to published asset across static, carousel, and feed-first formats
- Build and evolve recurring creative formats to translate business initiatives into channel-native content
- Translate the Okta Secures AI story into visually compelling ideas
- Integrate cultural relevance into a trusted security brand
- Design assets for the social advocacy program to enable employee and partner sharing
- Partner with the video team to elevate YouTube performance through thumbnails and visual assets
- Evolve brand expression for social while maintaining brand consistency
- Test new formats, analyze performance data, and establish repeatable best practices
- Present creative direction to stakeholders and mentor contributing designers
- Monitor platform changes and feed trends to identify new opportunities
Requirements
- Standout portfolio of social-first work demonstrating engagement and brand alignment
- Senior-level experience designing for social channels, ideally in-house or in a social-native environment
- Expert command of feed-native design and platform best practices including YouTube
- Proven ability to design for engagement and simplify abstract or technical subject matter
- Strong cultural instinct and judgment
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Figma
- Test-and-learn mindset with experience using engagement data to iterate
- Ability to work fast and thrive in a high-trust, fast-paced environment
