About the Role
As a Solution Engineer, you will proactively engage customers, understand their business and technical challenges, and lead technical conversations that demonstrate the value of Microsoft solutions. You will drive customer success by securing technical wins, influencing solution strategy, and providing expert guidance across both core and adjacent technologies. In this role, you will collaborate closely with partners, sales teams, and engineering organizations to deliver customer outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Shape strategic win and customer success plans, tailoring Microsoft messaging to the audience.
- Build consumption plans with Partner and Industry Solutions Delivery teams.
- Capture and deliver competitive knowledge to product and engineering teams.
- Provide strategic, technical, and partner input at the account level.
- Monitor and respond to internal tech community posts, attend community calls, and act as a mentor.
- Demonstrate new and updated products to internal teams.
- Build a personal readiness plan and identify learning gaps.
- Grow domain knowledge and practice expertise by communicating with customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Support partner technical capacity by identifying skill and resource gaps.
- Engage in partner sell-with scenarios, acting as a liaison.
- Leverage foundational knowledge of resources and proactively engage product teams to remediate blockers.
- Act as a trusted advisor to assess and consult on customer security needs.
- Engage with and reach out to customers proactively and independently.
- Lead technical discussions and ensure technical wins for core and adjacent technologies.
- Establish rules of engagement for extended teams.
- Search for customer references to use in engagements.
- Present and apply architecture patterns to partners or customers.
- Drive cross-workload support for Microsoft Solutions.
- Apply sales methodologies and coach teams in addressing customer digital transformation.
- Demonstrate products, services, and integration through initial engagements.
- Oversee demonstrations, including architectural design sessions and proof of concept (POC) sessions.
- Leverage partner/customer teams to prove capabilities and integration.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR 5+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience.
- 4+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
- Certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., Office 365, Power BI, Azure Architect and Development exams, Cloud Platform Technologies, Information Security, Architecture).
