About the Role
Wispr Flow is seeking a Communications Architect to build and own the end-to-end communications function for an AI-native company. This role involves developing a new model for corporate communications that moves beyond traditional methods, focusing on narrative development, message architecture, and media strategy for a rapidly evolving AI landscape.
Responsibilities
- Own corporate narrative and positioning, including message architecture and audience-specific narrative tracks.
- Develop and manage the communications system, encompassing editorial calendar, media strategy, social strategy, campaign planning, content production, agency management, and performance measurement.
- Maximize positive reach and positioning across key press and media channels.
- Build a durable executive voice for the CEO across various platforms, establishing a repeatable system.
- Translate technical complexity into distinct narrative tracks for developers, consumers, enterprise buyers, press, and recruits.
- Build targeted relationships with emerging media, including podcasts, newsletters, streaming shows, and creators.
- Leverage AI to enhance and accelerate conventional PR workflows, reporting, dashboards, coverage tracking, and competitive intelligence.
- Provide embedded communications input for product launches, investor narratives, and partnership strategies.
- Establish and maintain a competitive intelligence practice to inform narrative planning and maintain category leadership.
- Manage reputation and issues through proactive scenario planning, rapid response, and sound judgment under pressure.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of communications experience.
- Meaningful experience building programs and teams at high-growth technology companies.
- Demonstrated ability to write well and think in systems.
- Proven ability to translate technical complexity across multiple distinct audiences without losing substance.
- Business and financial fluency, understanding the connection between positioning, growth narrative, investor perception, and communications strategy.
- Strong media relationships built on trust and a proactive news sense.
- Proven issues management judgment, with experience handling significant situations under pressure.
- High agency and low ego, with a focus on shipping, direct feedback, and accountability for outcomes.
- Experience using AI tools to improve speed and quality while maintaining high editorial standards.
