About the Role

Join ASX, a leading global securities exchange and trusted market operator, to power a stronger economic future by enabling a fair and dynamic marketplace. This role is crucial for ensuring effective oversight of financial risks within ASX Clearing Houses.

Responsibilities

• Provide thought leadership on financial risk oversight in ASX Clearing Houses.
• Lead the operation of key risk controls, including execution, monitoring, and remediation of issues.
• Manage and improve risk processes, including control effectiveness reviews, testing, and procedure updates.
• Drive improvements in financial risk management oversight capabilities towards proactive management.
• Support default management firedrills as needed.
• Partner with Quantitative Analytics, Quantitative Development, Model Risk, and Policy teams to enhance modeling and risk insights.
• Collaborate with line 1 teams on new products and clearing services, providing SME input on financial risk.
• Manage regulatory, audit, and self-identified issues, ensuring timely and appropriate completion.
• Contribute to and write papers for relevant boards and working groups.
• Effectively manage engagements with external stakeholders, including consultants, participants, and regulators.

Requirements

• 8+ years of domestic or international experience in traded market risk and liquidity risk management/controls in financial institutions.
• Strong understanding of financial risk management concepts (market, credit, liquidity risk).
• Proven track record of managing and uplifting risk management frameworks.
• Solid grasp of global markets, economic conditions, and geopolitics, and their potential impact on financial risks.
• Ability to analyze complex risk management and business problems and develop solutions.
• Capacity to interpret model specifications and assess practical implications.
• Academic qualifications in a quantitative or financial discipline.
• Experience in project delivery and change management within financial risk management.
• Experience coaching and developing team members.
• Experience working with external stakeholders, including customers and regulatory agencies.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Australia on a permanent basis without restrictions.
