About the Role
The Senior Counsel serves as the lead legal advisor for assigned business units and support functions, delivering guidance on complex issues in a multinational environment to drive business transformation and innovation. This role partners directly with leaders and associates across various functions, including R&D, product management, sales, marketing, operations, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Enable business unit strategy and operations by providing practical, solution-oriented legal guidance and negotiating agreements.
- Serve as a primary global contact for the legal and compliance team, partnering with leaders on strategic and operational challenges.
- Act as a legal subject matter expert and strategic advisor on cross-functional projects, helping to organize and lead teams to solve complex business problems and effect strategic transactions.
- Partner with specialist attorneys and external counsel on IP, employment, regulatory, compliance, M&A, and joint venture matters.
- Manage commercial and other disputes, including litigations.
- Utilize Danaher Business System (DBS) tools to identify, design, and implement continuous process improvement initiatives within the legal and compliance team.
- Support matters for other Danaher operating companies in the Diagnostic/IVD and Life Sciences markets as needed.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- 6+ years of experience with complex commercial and corporate transactions.
- 3+ years of experience in a large law firm transactional practice.
- Excellent writing and contract drafting skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively with associates at all levels of the company.
- Ability to travel approximately 15% or less.
