About the Role
In Strategy, Risk & Transactions - Advisory - Actuarial & Insurance Services, you will analyze the risks of the insurance business with clients from the German insurance and financial industry, making them manageable through mathematical models and machine learning methods. Our team's actuarial insights form the basis for strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex risks of the insurance business and make them manageable using mathematical models.
- Develop and extend deterministic and stochastic forecasts using algorithms for data analysis, particularly machine learning and data analytics.
- Solve complex problems in insurance mathematics across the entire actuarial value chain, including partial project responsibility.
- Independently develop existing modeling approaches in risk management, pricing, and underwriting to support insurance clients.
- Support M&A processes, restructurings, and new company formations in the financial services sector with expertise.
- Actively and independently shape strategic initiatives and focus topics, representing the company in the market.
Requirements
- Degree in (Business) Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable natural science/technical field, preferably with a doctorate.
- 2 years of professional experience in a consulting firm or a comparable position in an insurance or financial services company.
- Initial practical experience in programming, data analysis, or machine learning, as well as in using software such as R, SQL, Python, SAS, or Java.
- Enjoyment of project work with various clients in the financial industry.
- High degree of independence, commitment, communication skills, and solution orientation.
- Willingness to travel.
- Very good written and spoken German and English.
