About the Role

The Retail Store Supervisor role focuses on providing comprehensive solutions to customers across Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role involves building customer relationships, acting as an advisor on Technology and print offerings, and driving sales using proven sales principles. The Store Supervisor supports a customer-centric environment, community engagement, and a positive culture aligned with Office Depot's values. They are also responsible for training associates on products, selling techniques, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture that builds trust, brand loyalty and exceptional client service delivery.
  • Utilize and understand the selling program to promote the sale of the best solution as well as additional product and/or services solutions.
  • Maintain awareness of planned advertisements and promotions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by educating customers about Office Depot products and services.
  • Effectively utilize communication tools to request assistance anywhere on the sales floor, and to coordinate the appropriate service, and customer engagement throughout the store.
  • Evaluate customer needs to determine the total solution.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and ongoing training to store associates, including Print Services associates.
  • Facilitate training sessions on the business model and the holistic service offering for clients/customers.
  • Observe, coach, and provide feedback to enhance associate proficiency and build a culture of trust and brand loyalty.
  • Provide feedback to the General Manager regarding store associates' performance, certification(s), and competencies.
  • Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies.
  • Ensure regular loss prevention compliance.
  • Assist the General Manager in providing guidance and effective coaching to associates for improved performance.
  • Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of other managers.
  • Ensure regular loss prevention compliance in partnership with all associates.
  • Perform opening and closing responsibilities, including alarm system activation/deactivation, cash handling, and daily store balancing.
  • Fulfill responsibilities associated with External Key Carrier designation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; coursework in Business, Retail Management, or related field a plus
  • 1–3 years related experience; retail, sales, customer-facing, and/or supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledgeable in Technology and Print, including use of relevant equipment and POS systems
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that aligns with business needs, inclusive of evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Must be able to perform External Key Carrier responsibilities.
  • May require consent to periodic comprehensive background checks.
