About the Role
Plan and manage the functions of the hotel F&B to achieve customer satisfaction and quality service while meeting financial goals. This role is responsible for short and long-term planning and day-to-day operations, developing and recommending the budget, marketing plans, and objectives, and managing within approved plans.
Responsibilities
- Manage Human Resources to attract, retain, and motivate employees, including hiring, training, development, coaching, performance reviews, problem resolution, and discipline.
- Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the annual budget, business/marketing plan, forecasts, and objectives.
- Implement company and franchise programs, develop local programs and procedures, and manage operations ensuring compliance with SOPs, safety regulations, and all federal, state, and local laws.
- Resolve customer complaints to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality.
- Comply with emergency organizational procedures and train staff for protection of guests, staff, and company assets.
- Promote an accident prevention program to minimize liabilities and related expenses.
- Manage the maintenance and sanitation of the front and back of the house to protect assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
- Assume the responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence.
Requirements
- High School diploma/secondary qualification or equivalent.
- Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham, or Hyatt processes and standards.
- Requires advanced knowledge of the hospitality and business management fields.
- Requires considerable working knowledge of other major areas and the skill to integrate and communicate that information.
- Requires studying, analyzing, and interpreting complex activities or information to improve practices or develop new approaches.
- Ability to make decisions with general policies and procedures for guidance and keep the General Manager informed.
- Requires highly developed communication skills for leading staff and guest satisfaction.
- Must have excellent speech and written skills.
- Must have excellent literacy skills for reports, policies, and procedures.
- Must have vision ability to visually inspect the hotel.
- Must have mobility to walk through the front and back of the hotel.
- Being passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading and writing abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/information updates.
- Basic math skills are used frequently when handling cash or credit.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
