About the Role
Responsible for assisting the Child Care Site Director with the daily operation of a program site and ensuring the health, safety, and nutrition of children.
Responsibilities
- Follow all CDC, OCFS, and DOH guidelines for after-school programs.
- Accurately track all arrivals, departures, and absences.
- Assist with designing room arrangements to facilitate varied experiences.
- Serve as the acting Site Director in the Director's absence.
- Assist with planning age-appropriate and stimulating activities aligned with YMCA and NSACA goals.
- Maintain cleanliness and order of all program areas.
- Maintain open communication with parents, administration, and school personnel.
- Secure and maintain all necessary health/emergency records.
- Document all accident/incident reports.
- Maintain a log book.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Program Director.
- Attend mandatory trainings.
- Assume other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must submit to an inquiry with the State Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
- Must submit yearly fingerprint card to the Office of Children and Family Services.
- Must be sensitive and mature, able to relate well to both children and adults.
- Possess the personality and ability to provide leadership and stability for program continuity.
- Have a physical including Mantoux test.

Experience Level
- At least one year in a supervisory capacity
Education Level
- Associate Degree in Child Development, Elementary Education, Physical Education, Recreation or a related field
- Two years of college with 18 credits in the above areas or concentration
Salary/Compensations
- $17.00 - $18.00 Hourly
