About the Role

The Sr. Sales Associate will support and sell within the Clubs team, partnering with warehouse clubs' accounts. This role requires strong communication skills, self-sufficiency, and a creative problem-solving approach for retail partners.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the point person for seasonal sales calls, including gathering materials, researching titles, and creating presentations.
  • Manage the co-op pool by submitting contracts and updating trackers.
  • Analyze and report on market trends and insights weekly and on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Present titles seasonally to Club retailers and their supporting vendors.
  • Optimize frontlist and backlist opportunities through in-store promotions and co-op pool management.
  • Communicate account buys and update estimates.
  • Attend regular meetings (imprint launch, strategy, marketing) and provide account-specific feedback.
  • Collaborate with publishers on account-unique opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of sales experience.
  • Direct selling experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities and follow up.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excel at working within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% by car, train, or plane within the domestic U.S.
  • Previous sales experience in publishing is a strong plus.
  • Candidates should reside within a reasonable commuting distance of New York City or be prepared to relocate.
