About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant and Sterilization Technician to join our professional, patient-focused endodontic practice. This role is crucial in ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care environment, utilizing the latest technology and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
- Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
- Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
- Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
- Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
- Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
- Clean, package, sterilize, and store dental instruments in compliance with IPAC standards and provincial regulations.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, completing required testing and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized reprocessing area following health and safety protocols.
- Identify and report equipment or sterilization issues promptly.
Requirements
- Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with your Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
- Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.
- Experience with IPAC (Infection Prevention and Control) is required.
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
