About the Role
As an Associate Product Manager joining the Product Academy, you will be placed in one of our teams that both power Wise and ensure our customers have a safe and convenient experience when using us. You will get to build your skills in Product Management through a tailored learning program in combination with executing on real problems. After your successful graduation from the Product Academy, you will transition into a full-time member of the Wise Product team!
Responsibilities
- Supervise appropriate measures to ensure financial crime risks are accounted for in day-to-day operations, focusing on AML and Fraud controls.
- Provide advice and guidance on BSA, AML/CTF regulations, and Wise policies to regional and global teams.
- Support the development and maintenance of the compliance FinCrime oversight framework for AML and Fraud investigations and controls.
- Challenge first-line teams on control development and approve control changes, new products, or features.
- Represent FinCrime compliance oversight internally and externally to regulators, auditors, and partners.
- Ensure strong oversight of all compliance operations, focusing on AML and Fraud.
- Serve as a member of the US SAR committee, providing feedback to the SAR Reporting Team.
- Contribute to the company’s annual Financial Crime Risk Assessment for Wise US Inc.
- Horizon scan for new FinCrime regulatory developments and oversee their implementation.
- Proactively identify key risk areas and collaborate with first-line teams on mitigation plans.
- Define and monitor MI/KRIs for covered areas, escalating concerns with clear recommendations.
Requirements
- Expertise in US financial crime regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC, and NY DFS Part 504.
- Experience working in financial crime compliance, preferably in a fast-paced environment at a financial institution, fintech, money service business, or as a consultant.
- Extensive experience working on AML and Fraud controls.
- Demonstrable experience designing and challenging processes, ideally across multiple products.
- Thoughtful understanding of the Wise mission and its intersection with compliance.
- Solution-oriented with a drive to improve current practices and processes.
- Ability to apply different compliance strategies to develop compliance frameworks.
- Comfortable and effective communicator, both written and spoken, conveying complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Sense of urgency and ability to work well under pressure, prioritizing, taking responsibility, and meeting tight deadlines.
- Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Great people skills with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships across the business and globally.
- Willingness to travel to other offices as required.
- Must already be legally authorized to work in the US; Visas cannot be provided for this role.
