About the Role
As an Assistant Residential Manager, you will support individuals with disabilities in their daily lives, fostering independence and well-being. You will assist in program management, oversee house operations and staff, and build meaningful relationships with employees and stakeholders to make a tangible difference.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily staff activities and create comprehensive shift schedules.
- Implement emergency procedures and manage crisis situations.
- Obtain and maintain AMAP certification within the first 90 days.
- Train and supervise new staff to ensure active treatment.
- Assist the Program Manager with staff issues, disputes, and administrative paperwork.
- Document formal goals and protocols per the CFA/ILife Plan/Staff Action Plan.
- Implement behavior plans and annual plan components.
- Evaluate monthly progress toward short-term objectives and formulate new goals.
- Write monthly summaries.
- Accompany individuals to medical appointments and ensure proper staffing.
- Complete documentation including incident reports, SCIP-R reports, body checks, and logs.
- Participate in the development and revision of goals, protocols, and behavior plans.
- Attend Interdisciplinary Team meetings, staff meetings, and annual recertification trainings.
- Enter billing data into the electronic health record by the end of each shift.
- Ensure completion of CI responsibilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma.
- One year of experience working with developmentally disabled adults.
- Valid NYS driver’s license and approval by the Transportation Department.
- Ability to move or push heavy objects up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to lift, move, and carry 20 pounds.
- Ability to run up to 500 feet to reach an individual or program in need.
- Ability to kneel, twist, and bend.
- Ability to respond to fire alarms.
- Ability to perform all physical SCIP techniques.
