About the Role

The Strategic Sourcing / Value Creation (SCM) intern will work closely with the supply chain/commodity management team, analyzing mechanical drawings, sourcing parts, and communicating with suppliers. Work will be guided by detailed instructions and routines, with close supervision. As proficiency is gained, more complex duties will be assigned. The intern will interact with supervisors, co-workers, and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Review supply & demand with price-cost analysis for value creation projects
  • Perform Costed Bill of Materials analysis
  • Draft Value Add proposals for submission to internal and external customers
  • Maintain internal and customer project reporting trackers
  • Drive project execution and closure with global site program managers
  • Access the Defense Logistics Agency website for suitable alternative suppliers to resolve clear-to-build issues
  • Provide cost estimates for new bids and/or cost savings change management
  • Engage in supplier and customer facing roles
  • Generate ideas to automate and streamline manual processes
  • Analyze mechanical drawings
  • Source parts
  • Communicate with suppliers

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a University or College internship program and have completed their 3rd year of studies
  • Students enrolled in a Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business program are ideal
  • Employment offer is conditional upon successful completion of a security assessment by Celestica and/or its authorized agents, per the Controlled Goods Regulations
