About the Role

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the community grounds, buildings, and common areas, working under the direction of the Community or Maintenance Manager to ensure the property meets high standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property grounds and cleanliness outside buildings
• Remove debris from common areas and breezeways
• Clean building gutters
• Perform landscaping tasks including planting, trimming, mowing, and applying fertilizer or insecticides
• Maintain tools and equipment through lubrication, sharpening, and simple repairs
• Remove trash and clean common areas daily
• Perform pool maintenance duties as required
• Shovel snow and spread salt on passageways
• Clean vacated apartments according to schedule
• Maintain amenities including fitness facilities, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and business centers
• Assist the maintenance team with light work orders, painting, and moving appliances
• Adhere to all safety and OSHA requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in grounds keeping in a multi-family environment
• 2+ years of experience in landscaping
• Ability to walk, bend, reach, climb, and lift up to 80 lbs
• Comfortable working with heights and moving heavy objects
• Ability to work with mechanical, electrical equipment, and hazardous materials
• Understanding of and alignment with company core values
