Johns Manville is seeking a Production Operator to join their team in Plattsburgh, NY. This role involves operating machinery, performing quality checks, assisting with machine changeovers, conducting preventative maintenance, and adjusting machine settings to ensure product quality. Responsibilities
- Operating a forklift once certified
- Performing quality tests according to visual acceptance standards
- Assisting in changeovers of the machine from one product line to another
- Performing routine preventative maintenance tasks such as cleaning, safety inspections, lubricating and testing
- Adjusting machine settings to ensure top quality product is being produced
- Being a team player and helping others as needed
- Utilizing problem-solving capabilities
- Looking for ways to improve processes and programs
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to manually lift at least 50 pounds safely and with proper body mechanics, sometimes while in awkward positions
- Ability to execute both fine and gross motor hand movements
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful work environment
- Ability to safely and effectively work in an often-dusty work environment that experiences a broad range of temperatures (very hot to very cold)
- Physically able to perform essential job functions
