About the Role
This is a seller-doer role where you will own the technical sale and help deliver the work. You will translate ambiguous business problems into scoped solutions across Data Platform Modernization, AI/ML Implementation, Analytics and BI, and Data Strategy. You will lead discovery, shape architecture, build proposals, and carry the technical narrative to win deals. Post-sale, you will set technical direction, guide initial phases, and remain the trusted architect. Success is measured by both sales and delivery contributions.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical discovery with prospects to uncover problems and qualify fit.
- Translate client needs into reference architectures, solution approaches, and phased delivery plans on Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Partner with sales to build proposals and Statements of Work, scope team composition and timelines, and present the technical case to stakeholders.
- Carry a sales quota, drive pipeline, advance deals through technical validation, and close.
- Defend the company's approach against alternatives with credible, technical answers.
- Set the technical direction for engagements and guide delivery teams through architecture decisions and initial phases.
- Write and review production-grade code.
- Contribute hands-on to client work to meet delivery or utilization targets.
- Surface new opportunities within accounts and grow engagements.
- Uphold delivery standards including code review, testing, documentation, and clean handoff.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years in data engineering, ML, cloud data platforms, or analytics with production experience.
- Track record in a seller-doer, pre-sales solution architect, or consulting delivery lead role.
- Hands-on, production depth on Databricks (Lakehouse, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, MLflow, Spark).
- Working knowledge of Snowflake and at least one cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Working knowledge of modern data tooling (dbt, Airflow, Python, SQL).
- Ability to lead discovery calls with CTOs and whiteboard sessions with engineers.
- Experience scoping engagements, writing proposals or SOWs, and presenting solutions.
