About the Role
Catapult is seeking a foundational Web Engineer to lead the transition into modern web and mobile application ecosystems. This role involves architecture, rapid product prototyping, and strategic engineering leadership, bridging existing backend architecture with high-fidelity frontend applications.
Responsibilities
- Transform internal scripts, data importers, and management tools into production-ready web applications.
- Rebuild complex workflows, such as group administration and user management, into seamless web and hybrid experiences.
- Act as a rapid responder to build bespoke tools, custom league integrations, and special project solutions for high-profile clients.
- Define modern web best practices, set up CI/CD pipelines, and align technology stacks with wider web divisions.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience with React, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, and building cross-platform apps wrapped in Electron and React Native.
- Strong experience consuming complex internal APIs and managing frontend state.
- Solid understanding of database design and backend architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to build web environments from scratch, including configuring developer workflows, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
- Proven track record of operating in a 'tiger team' capacity, rapidly prototyping and delivering features under tight timelines.
