About the Role
The Director of Marketing & Community Strategy develops and executes an editorial content strategy to bring the JCCSF’s mission, impact, and community to life. This role advances organizational storytelling and content strategies to deepen relationships with members, participants, funders, and new audiences, while strengthening the organization's visibility, impact, and reputation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of an editorial content calendar and storytelling strategy.
- Build systems, relationships, and shared practices to empower teams to contribute stories and content.
- Support Development-led fundraising initiatives with strategic marketing expertise.
- Develop and optimize donor and participant nurture strategies.
- Identify new channels and approaches for donor engagement.
- Launch integrated marketing campaigns to support programs.
- Advance marketing initiatives through the creative process, from strategy to execution.
- Partner with the VP of Marketing to develop and advance strategic marketing initiatives.
- Measure and evaluate audience growth, participation, and retention.
- Partner with Jewish Engagement program teams to develop marketing strategies.
- Develop audience growth strategies for emerging initiatives and targeted audiences.
- Identify opportunities to attract new audiences and encourage ongoing engagement.
- Support cross-functional or major initiatives with messaging and engagement planning.
- Write and advance strategic communications aligned with organizational strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in marketing strategy, partnerships, audience engagement, or related leadership roles.
- Strong experience developing strategic marketing initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience supporting fundraising or working alongside Development teams.
- Demonstrated success building partnerships and community relationships.
- Strong storytelling and content strategy capabilities.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
- Superb organizational and proven success in project management.
- Strong ability to thrive while managing tight deadlines, multiple simultaneous projects and numerous clients.
- Proactive, positive style with the ability to think strategically and provide creative solutions.
- Possess political savvy to drive consensus and discipline to convert plans into deliverables.
- Knowledge of or interest in Jewish culture/organizations and community engagement is a plus.
- Must be capable in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be able to get up to speed quickly with a web-based project management and trafficking tool such as Asana.
