About the Role

The Prepared Foods Team Member I supports department leaders in delivering an exceptional customer experience through food production, inventory management, and store maintenance. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and service to ensure an inviting environment for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exemplary service to customers and co-workers using established standards
  • Educate customers on products and answer inquiries
  • Model company culture, policies, and procedures while promoting team building
  • Maintain consistent and fair treatment of all co-workers
  • Ensure clear, direct, and respectful communication
  • Continuously improve efficiency, accuracy, service, quality, and safety
  • Influence staff to ensure proper training of new team members
  • Assist in operational and product knowledge training
  • Safely perform food production activities using established procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, storage area, and equipment
  • Ensure all products are accurately signed according to standards
  • Verify prepared foods meet recipe standards for quality, consistency, and taste
  • Adhere to all safety rules and utilize required safety devices
  • Pack out, label, and stock products to standard
  • Apply food safety practices and product rotation to ensure shelf life
  • Monitor and communicate shrink to shift leaders
  • Maintain accurate production, shrink, and temperature records
  • Ensure food stations remain clean, stocked, and fresh
  • Execute merchandising plans and participate in resets
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Participate in periodic department inventories
  • Report equipment and tool malfunctions
  • Package, weigh, and price products according to specifications
  • Execute safety and sanitation programs, including cleaning schedules
  • Perform maintenance and other tasks as assigned
  • Participate in daily faceoff of retail shelves

Requirements

  • Ability to use computer equipment continuously
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, and climb
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Sufficient finger and hand dexterity to grasp items of various sizes
  • Adequate vision including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
  • Familiarity with natural foods, vegan and vegetarian cuisine, and organic growing practices
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, mornings, and nights
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality, and calmness under pressure
  • Ability to follow established systems and procedures with attention to detail
  • Consistent follow-through on commitments and deadlines
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions

Experience Level

  • Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience preferred
