About the Role

Reporting to the VP of Aging Services/Administrator, the DCNS holds 24-hour clinical accountability for the nursing operations of this 153-bed Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). This role shares a clinical matrix alignment to the Vice President of Patient Care Services/Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of CVMC.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight for daily clinical operational management and assures that documentation of the resident care processes are in alignment with standards of care.
  • Provides supervision of nursing personnel and promotes a strong sense of team across disciplines.
  • Serves as a role model by promoting a high level of customer service and service quality for the team.
  • Serves in the role of lead nursing administrator, promoting nursing accountability with a focus on evidence-based practices.
  • Has accountability for the development and management of the nursing services budget.
  • Ensures that applicable state and federal regulatory requirements are being met in the provision of effective, high quality resident care.

Requirements

  • Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont is required.
  • Graduate of an approved professional nursing education program.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or Bachelor’s degree in nursing and related Master’s degree required.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in nursing with commitment to complete Master’s program within five years in position.
