About the Role

As a Conform & Colour Assistant, you'll play a vital role in the finishing process behind premium film and television projects. Working alongside talented colourists and artists, you'll be at the heart of a fast-paced, high-end post-production environment, helping transform raw footage into polished final deliverables. If you're passionate about colour grading, editorial workflows, automation, and the technical craft behind stunning visuals, this is an opportunity to develop your skills on some of the industry's most exciting projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming and outgoing data, including backup, archiving, and restoring of projects.
  • Operate editing tools for basic tasks such as digitizing, syncing rushes, media file creation, labelling, project restores, and creating EDLs.
  • Set up projects for colourists within the Baselight system and assist with exporting and rendering.
  • Establish transcoding templates and perform transcoding tasks.
  • Provide front-line technical support for the colourist team, including knowledge of video and audio systems.
  • Perform quality checks on masters and master files, including technical and subjective assessments.
  • Troubleshoot workflows and review processes for efficiency improvements.
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of tapeless workflows from camera to final delivery.
  • Interact with the Alfred automated system to complete tasks and troubleshoot issues.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience as a Baselight operator, preferably within a high-end facility environment.
  • Experience with Resolve, Avid Media Composer, FCP, and Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Good level knowledge of Flame and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Intermediate IT skills, preferably with strong knowledge of Linux.
  • Exposure to processes and etiquette around high-end Television Drama and Feature Projects.
  • Familiarity with digitizing, transcoding, logging, syncing, and grouping.
  • Experience with EDLs, OMF/AAF's, various quicktime codecs.
  • Working knowledge of frame rates, formats, and codecs.
  • Familiarity with Conditions of Service, Contract of Employment, Health and Safety and their impact on staff.
