About the Role
The Lead, Financial Crime will serve as a Product and Business Owner within the Payments Products team, responsible for advancing the organization's objective to shape the future of payments. This role involves developing financial crime roadmaps, managing fraud services, and collaborating across cross-functional pillars to ensure a secure payment system.
Responsibilities
- Lead as the Product and Business Owner for financial crimes and Fraud Services.
- Provide business owner input into the central fraud services vision, roadmap, requirements, and release plan.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor to the Director on fraud management and product strategy.
- Synthesize stakeholder insights into problem and goal statements.
- Develop control journey flows, analyze data, and define business requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including members, regulators, and vendors.
- Manage internal and external interactions and provide prompt responses to inquiries.
- Identify and execute process and reporting improvements.
- Provide regular status updates on ongoing files and action points.
- Support the elaboration of roadmaps and corporate planning business cases.
- Oversee the end-to-end product life cycle for central fraud services.
- Research and document pre-discovery and discovery phase initiatives.
- Own the resolution of complex business issues.
- Drive product strategy and thought leadership.
- Conduct data analysis and produce actionable insights.
- Analyze industry fraud data to identify emerging trends.
- Review product designs for financial crimes support and user experience.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to improve user flows.
- Develop user tips, tools, and guides.
- Manage vendor relationships and support SLA compliance.
- Establish product management discipline and workflows.
- Mentor and assist junior team members.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Math, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in financial crimes, fraud management, risk management, or business analysis.
- Ability to bridge cross-functional and vendor teams.
- Ability to solve complex problems requiring cross-organization strategy alignment.
- Ability to manage uncertainty and synthesize information to support recommended paths.
- Experience developing and promoting financial crimes strategies.
- Experience showing leadership and managing ambiguity.
- Experience liaising with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Reliability Status Clearance.
- Successful completion of enhanced background checks.
