About the Role

ELMI AI is building a software platform to intelligently control charging stations and battery storage systems. This platform will process data from energy management systems, analyze competitor pricing, dynamically adjust its own pricing, optimize battery recharge strategies, and engage in active energy trading. The goal is to evolve existing module prototypes into a robust, production-ready software product.

Responsibilities

Design and independently build a scalable cloud architecture on AWS for the ELMI AI platform.
Evaluate, further develop, and partially rebuild existing module prototypes into a stable, first production version.
Connect and process data from the energy management systems of charging stations and battery storage.
Technically implement market analysis of surrounding charging stations and automated, dynamic price adjustments.
Develop logic and algorithms to optimize the recharge strategy of internal battery storage.
Technically implement interfaces and trading logic for automated energy trading.
Provide technical leadership for a development team, including code reviews and technology decisions.
Actively contribute to coding, especially during the critical build phase of the first stable version.

Requirements

Several years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Tech Lead, or Architect, ideally with experience building a software product from an early stage.
Proven experience in independently building and operating AWS infrastructure.
Willingness to actively code, even after years in architecture or leadership roles.
Experience with software controlling distributed, physical assets (e.g., IoT platforms, fleet or asset management, smart grid).
Experience in the technical leadership of (remote/nearshore) development teams.
Make architectural decisions appropriate for the current company size, avoiding over-engineering.
Fluent German and very good English for collaboration with the international team.
Experience with charging infrastructure, EMS, or energy trading is a plus, but not required.
Mandarin language skills are a significant plus.
