About the Role
The Buyer, Investments will work as part of an integrated media investment team, collaborating with client account leads and internal finance and client groups. This role supports the team with monthly budget forecasting, customer audits, analyses, and ensures agency-wide targets and commitments are met.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and yearly forecasting reports.
- Investigate, explain, and resolve variances (current vs. forecast, current vs. prior years, quarter vs. quarter, etc.).
- Coordinate with planning/buying teams on forecasts, rates, and plans to meet annual targets.
- Proactively develop knowledge of the media landscape.
- Attend media seminars and vendor presentations.
- Streamline and improve existing processes, providing solutions for challenges.
- Assist in the preparation of client billing estimates and reconciliations.
- Solve and clear billing discrepancies and queries.
- Develop proficiency with media-related tools and research systems.
- Perform other duties/ad hoc projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education – bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field preferred.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and strong internal client relationship skills.
- Excellent ability to manage and prioritize time effectively.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Proactive approach to problem solving, assisting the team, self-development.
- Strong learning agility, with a passion for continuous development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel).
- Proficiency in Excel tools such as: Pivot tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query, conditional formatting, IF statements, GETPIVOTDATA.
