About the Role
This position supports Porter’s Approved Maintenance Organization by performing functions related to the Technical Operations Training Program and Approved Training Organization.
Responsibilities
- Deliver theoretical and practical type endorsement training for the Embraer ERJ 190-400, E195-E2
- Deliver theoretical and practical type endorsement training for the DeHavilland DHC-8-400
- Research and develop technical ATA course modules for the Embraer ERJ 190-400, E195-E2 and DeHavilland DHC-8-400
- Write user-friendly course syllabus and detailed Instructor notes
- Create written exams for type endorsement training based on Canadian Aviation Regulations, Standard 566
- Develop aircraft technical familiarization courses for internal delivery and third-party MROs
- Develop, coordinate, instruct and assess training programs for Technical Operations personnel, focusing on the line maintenance team
- Assist with the development and maintenance of the Technical Operations Training Control Manual (TCM)
- Assist with the maintenance of training records and administration of the Learning Management System (LMS)
- Develop online aircraft technical training to ensure compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)
- Ongoing training development in areas such as AME/ACA/Lead/MOC upgrades, Aircraft Maintenance Documentation training, aircraft system maintenance and troubleshooting, and line maintenance operations
- Promote current policies and procedures defined in the Maintenance Policy and Maintenance Control Manuals
- Revise existing procedures and generate new processes to enhance safety, knowledge and efficiencies
- Participate in regular departmental meetings
- Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents
Requirements
- A college diploma in aircraft maintenance from a Transport Canada approved educational facility
- Holder of an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence
- A minimum of five years’ experience working within an Approved Maintenance Organization
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to generate published documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive unit
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced work environment
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to foster learning
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Experience working with technology to improve user experience: design, user-interface, and help refine content and create visuals and diagrams for technical support content
- Proven ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
- Ability to secure and maintain restricted airport security clearance
- Must maintain a valid passport and be able to travel when required
Skills
- DHC-8-Q400 endorsement preferred
- Embraer experience an asset, E190 family
- Experience in learning and adult learning facilitation is an asset
- Highly knowledgeable of the DHC-8-Q400
- Knowledgeable of Approved Maintenance Organization and Air Operator processes
- Ability to present subject matter effectively
- Excellent working knowledge of the Canadian Aviation Regulations with particular regard to CAR 573.06 and 706.12 including all associated standards
