About the Role

The Programme Officer role is within the Health & Inequalities Directorate, focusing on the foundational elements of good health and promoting health outside formal systems, particularly for those facing significant inequalities. You will support the delivery of Health & Inequalities programmes and projects as part of the embedded Portfolio Management team.

Responsibilities

  • Act as programme support on a suite of projects and programmes.
  • Work closely with content leads on the design, implementation, delivery, and management of projects within Health & Inequalities themes.
  • Support expert colleagues in navigating internal funding and procurement processes.
  • Implement and oversee a project management approach to set up projects for success.
  • Be involved in projects focused on research, analysis, events, test and learn programmes, agency contracts, and partnerships.
  • Undertake ongoing programme/project oversight and governance.
  • Update internal systems on project progress, budget management, and risks.
  • Support the wider governance of the three overarching themes.
  • Assist leads with preparing and delivering oversight meetings.
  • Maintain records on portfolio work progress.

Requirements

  • Experience in coordinating and managing projects or programmes.
  • Experience in managing funding grants and/or contracts.
  • Experience working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Ability to build relationships, coordinate activity, resolve issues, and ensure progress.
  • Ability to work outside normal working hours when required.
