About the Role
This role offers a hybrid opportunity, combining active cyber security consulting with team leadership. You will remain closely involved in client projects and security topics, while also developing, guiding, and managing a technically strong team. This position is ideal for someone who understands cyber security, enjoys client interaction, and seeks to advance into people management.
Responsibilities
- Active participation in cyber security and IT security projects for enterprise clients.
- Consulting on information security, GRC, ISMS, IT/OT security, IAM, cloud security, or security controls.
- Analyzing regulatory and standard-based requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, IT-Grundschutz, TISAX, IEC 62443, Cyber Resilience Act).
- Translating security requirements into actionable technical and organizational measures.
- Contributing to the conception, implementation, or further development of ISMS/IACS structures, policies, standards, and control mechanisms.
- Disciplinary leadership of a regional cyber/IT security team of approximately 20 employees.
- Supporting employees in development, career planning, performance, and further training.
- Assisting with workload management, talent development, training planning, and retention.
- Fostering a collaborative team culture with regular office days in the Düsseldorf/Cologne region.
- Planning and tracking joint team goals, content, and personal collaboration.
Requirements
- Solid experience in cyber security, IT security, information security, or GRC.
- Experience in active client project work, ideally in consulting or IT services.
- Very good understanding of IT security requirements, security controls, regulatory specifications, and their practical implementation.
- Experience with standards and topics such as ISO 27001, IT-Grundschutz, TISAX, IEC 62443, KRITIS, ISMS, IT/OT Security, IAM, or Cloud Security.
- Initial or established leadership experience (e.g., Team Lead, functional lead, people manager, project/sub-project manager).
- Enjoyment in developing employees, providing feedback, and conducting development discussions.
- Confident demeanor with clients, internal stakeholders, and technical teams.
- Clear, binding communication and the ability to manage expectations professionally.
- Business-fluent German and very good English language skills.
- Completed university degree (e.g., in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Economics, or a comparable field).
