About the Role
As a Specialist Engineer for Planning in the Power Plant sector at BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, you will be responsible for ensuring compliant, efficient, environmentally friendly, safe, and economical planning, monitoring, and control of maintenance, as well as the planning and execution of maintenance measures and projects. You will contribute to the company's mission of supplying the capital with climate-friendly electricity and heat, supporting the largest district heating network in Western Europe and driving the transition to renewable energy sources.
Responsibilities
- Project planning and implementation of projects and individual measures in mechanical engineering, process engineering, and electrical engineering.
- Evaluation and selection of components based on technical and economic criteria.
- Development of technical specifications, concepts, performance descriptions, tender documents, and technical reports.
- Support of tender processes for framework agreements and individual procurements.
- Analysis of technical problems and independent development and implementation of practical solutions.
- Addressing complex technical issues considering new technologies.
- Close collaboration with manufacturers, experts, and other technical partners.
- Order-related quality monitoring and acceptance procedures.
- Representing the company's interests in negotiations with suppliers and service providers.
Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree in process engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a comparable qualification.
- Professional experience in a comparable position.
- Proven practical knowledge in maintenance and/or in the planning and implementation of new construction projects.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and assertiveness skills.
- Analytical and strategic thinking ability combined with a quick grasp of concepts.
- Independent, structured, and goal-oriented work style.
- Strong technical and economic understanding.
- High team and cooperation skills and enjoyment of collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient use of standard office software; knowledge of SAP is an advantage.
- Fluent German language skills at at least C1 level.
- Willingness to apply even if fulfilling approximately 70% of the requirements.
