About the Role
SPIN is seeking an External Substitute Teacher's Assistant to support their Children's Programming. This role offers flexibility in choosing shifts to fit your lifestyle, with operating hours Monday-Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.
Responsibilities
- Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development
- Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
- Assist children with activities of daily life (e.g., diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing)
- Help facilitate daily activities that are developmentally appropriate for preschoolers
- Create and maintain an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children
- Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care and friendly service
- Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing curriculum and planning daily activities
- Communicate with the Lead Teacher regarding all aspects of the children's care and classroom management
- Maintain a professional self-image and project the organization's values at all times
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- Experience and dedication to working with young children
- Good organizational skills
- Clear, pleasant, and courteous communicator, both written and oral
- Ability to work independently and as an effective multi-disciplinary team member
- Flexibility to work between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm, Monday thru Friday
- Flexibility to work at the Drummond Road Location
- Ability to work a minimum of 24 hours a month
