About the Role

As a Senior Data & AI Architect, you will translate customer requirements into scalable end-to-end architectures and design modern data and AI landscapes. The focus is on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) as well as technologies like Databricks and Snowflake and concepts like Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Streaming. Generative and agentic AI will be used to support productivity and innovation, as well as for meaningful and secure use cases.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for architectural decisions throughout the entire lifecycle of data solutions with a focus on scalability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Design and control technical solution architectures using common cloud and data & AI technologies such as AWS (Glue, SageMaker), Azure (Fabric, Data Factory), GCP (BigQuery, Dataproc), Databricks (Lakehouse Platform, Spark), Snowflake (Snowflake AI Data Cloud), and the Modern Data Stack (dbt, Airflow).
Conception and integration of GenAI and Agentic AI solutions into data platforms and workflows, considering security and usability.
Ensuring data quality by building and operating data pipelines, establishing monitoring, observability, and governance concepts in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration with delivery teams and support for pre-sales activities, including architectural design, effort estimation, and knowledge transfer within teams and communities.

Requirements

Experience in the conception and implementation of modern data platforms in a project or consulting environment, as well as responsibility for architectural decisions throughout the entire solution lifecycle.
Knowledge of at least one common cloud or data platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake) and associated technologies.
Application of architectural approaches such as Lakehouse, Data Mesh, and Streaming, as well as the use of cloud-native principles like automation and CI/CD.
Programming skills (e.g., Python; other languages are an advantage) and experience with data pipelines, batch and streaming processing, data quality, and monitoring.
Knowledge of GenAI and Agentic AI approaches, experience in collaboration or technical coordination with teams, and confident communication in German and English; a relevant degree or comparable qualification is desirable.
