About the Role

This entry-level position provides the incumbent with the experience and training necessary to meet the requirements to advance to the level of Transmission System Operator. Responsibilities

• Become knowledgeable of the generation, transmission, and sub-transmission system components, nomenclature, and general operating procedures.
• Learn switching and tagging procedures outlined in the appropriate Participant directives.
• Perform duties under the guidance of the Transmission System Operator.
• Maximize transmission reliability and availability.
• Minimize congestion.
• Thoroughly understand and apply operating procedures and guidelines.
• Thoroughly understand and interpret local flow tools and applications.
• Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of an Emergency Restoration assignment.

Requirements

• Must successfully pass the SO/PD (System Operator/Power Dispatcher) Test.

• Four years of related experience, including work in generating stations, electrical maintenance, power system protection, and control, electrical system line work, or power system dispatching.

• Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology
