About the Role
This entry-level position provides the incumbent with the experience and training necessary to meet the requirements to advance to the level of Transmission System Operator. Responsibilities
- Become knowledgeable of the generation, transmission, and sub-transmission system components, nomenclature, and general operating procedures.
- Learn switching and tagging procedures outlined in the appropriate Participant directives.
- Perform duties under the guidance of the Transmission System Operator.
- Maximize transmission reliability and availability.
- Minimize congestion.
- Thoroughly understand and apply operating procedures and guidelines.
- Thoroughly understand and interpret local flow tools and applications.
- Respond to emergency situations to meet customers’ needs as part of an Emergency Restoration assignment.
Requirements
- Applicants requiring visa sponsorship will not be considered.
- Must successfully pass the SO/PD (System Operator/Power Dispatcher) Test.

- Four years of related experience, including work in generating stations, electrical maintenance, power system protection, and control, electrical system line work, or power system dispatching.

- Associate's degree in electrical engineering technology
- Two years of formal technical training beyond high school
