About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Technician to join our Structural Engineering team in London. You will lead the production and coordination of high-quality structural drawings and BIM models, support Revit standards, and mentor junior technicians while collaborating with Engineers and Project Leaders on a diverse portfolio of projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the production of structural engineering drawings and BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Support the development and implementation of Revit standards and protocols across UK projects.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and building services consultants to resolve design and documentation queries.
- Review and check technical drawings and deliverables for compliance with company drafting standards.
- Delegate and coordinate work across technicians, junior technicians, and trainees.
- Mentor junior team members by providing technical guidance and training.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of drawing office standards and best practices.
- Contribute to project planning, resource management, and delivery programmes.
- Maintain project drawing records and transmittals.
- Support health, safety, and wellbeing by ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Act as a senior technical resource and support Project Leaders.
Requirements
- HNC or HND qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in structural drafting and documentation.
- Minimum 3 years of experience using Revit with strong BIM coordination skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering drawings, detailing, and construction documentation.
- Experience coordinating information with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior technicians.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Proactive, collaborative approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
