About the Role
United Ag & Turf NE is seeking a Student Technician to gain part-time, on-the-job experience while attending an external service-focused program. This role supports the Service Department by providing exceptional customer service on John Deere equipment and offering hands-on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Service Manager and technicians in the efficient operation of the department.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the condition of the shop, vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Assist service technicians with parts delivery and other needs.
- Support service technicians in repairing, servicing, and moving equipment.
- Document diagnostics and repairs thoroughly on work orders and submit information on time.
- Participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs to develop skills and knowledge.
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on agricultural and turf equipment.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
- Operate and maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment necessary for job responsibilities.
Requirements
- Experience working cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Physical stamina for handling complex tools, heavy equipment, and navigating confined spaces.
- Ability to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and telephone.
- Specific vision abilities including close vision.
- Hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to reach, stoop, kneel, and bend as needed.
