About the Role
Audit Services provides independent assurance over how Northern Trust manages risk, strengthens controls, and supports responsible growth. This role will bring managing skills to help designing and leading the execution of audit validation activities as part of the Northern Trust’s Risk and Control Enhancement transformation program. The successful candidate will work with audit teams, business leaders, and senior stakeholders to interpret risk themes, challenge control design and effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Develop testing approach and ensure the scope of the audit validation activities is comprehensive and adequate.
- Lead walkthroughs and planning meetings.
- Provide training, coaching, and auditing expertise to the audit team.
- Work on several audit validations concurrently, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Lead discussions with stakeholders on testing findings.
- Challenge issues, propose root causes, and draft issues and reports, including executive summaries.
Requirements
- Knowledge of audit procedures and standards, typically gained through related work experience and a four-year degree program.
- Knowledge of corporate policies and procedures related to auditing/accounting standards.
- Analytical skills necessary to prepare audits.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the right to work in the United Kingdom at the time of application and for the duration of employment.
