This is a hands-on leadership role that combines operational oversight with reporting, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. The role is about more than chasing debt—you'll be leading and developing a small Credit Control team, owning month-end Credit Control activities and investor reporting, managing escalations, complex accounts, and collection risk, partnering with Finance, Sales, Operations, Billing, and Legal teams, and identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in process, efficiency, and automation
  • Support wider finance transformation initiatives and adoption of new ways of working
  • Manage failed Direct Debits, deposit top-ups, and account risk
  • Issue suspensions, manage terminations, and support legal escalations where required
  • Identify collection and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Handle sensitive client situations with professionalism and commercial judgement
  • Ensure compliance with policies, controls, and collection procedures
  • Line manage and mentor the Senior Credit Controller and wider Credit Control team
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and performance management support
  • Build team capability and encourage continuous improvement
  • Foster accountability, collaboration, and high performance across the function
