About the Role

As an IT Manager - Operations & ICT Governance (m/f/d), you will be responsible for BIT Capital's entire operational IT, serving as the operational interface to our ICT risk function under DORA. You will define and manage which IT responsibilities are handled internally versus outsourced, taking overall responsibility for a complex IT infrastructure in a regulated environment and significantly shaping its future development.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the stable and secure operation of our IT infrastructure, including clients, network, and cloud/SaaS services.
  • Design a hybrid sourcing model, deciding on the division between in-house operation and outsourcing, and managing IT service providers and cloud providers.
  • Manage all IT end devices and access, control onboarding and offboarding, and implement technical security measures (patch, vulnerability, and backup management).
  • Act as the operational ICT Risk Officer, serving as the central point of contact for ICT risk topics, maintaining the information register for ICT third-party providers, providing input for incident classification and reportable incidents, and supporting resilience, business continuity, and recovery tests.
  • Conduct monitoring and logging, assess and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk, and oversee security tests, including penetration tests.
  • Actively develop IT support, license management, and the documentation of our IT landscape, and technically complete measures from ICT risk management.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in IT operations or IT administration, preferably in a regulated environment (financial background is a plus).
  • Sound knowledge of IT security: identity and endpoint management, network fundamentals, vulnerability and patch management.
  • Familiarity with DORA and standards like ISO 27001 is a plus.
  • Experience in managing external IT service providers and cloud/SaaS environments.
  • Structured, documentation-oriented work style and the ability to connect technical IT with compliance/risk.
  • Completed degree in (Business) Informatics or Information Security, or a comparable qualification.
  • Proficient communication in German and English.
