About the Role

This role is responsible for delivering high-quality execution of global equity trades on behalf of clients, ensuring the efficient implementation of investment decisions while achieving best execution outcomes. Working across single stocks, index baskets and electronic trading platforms, the individual contributes to portfolio performance by preserving alpha, minimising transaction costs and sourcing market liquidity. They provide market insight to portfolio managers, build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and execution partners, and support continuous improvements in trading processes and technology. The role requires sound judgement in execution strategy, risk management and counterparty selection, while maintaining the highest standards of compliance, operational excellence and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in equity trading.
• Strong understanding of market structure, trading systems, and operating within a regulated environment.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret market data, assess trading performance, and provide insights to investment teams.
• Experience in programme trading, particularly index basket trading around MSCI and FTSE rebalances, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of electronic trading strategies, algorithmic execution, and the use of algo wheel frameworks.
• Understanding of Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and how trading performance reviews can be used to drive continuous improvement.
• Will be 'Certified' under the Financial Conduct Authority / Prudential Regulation Authority’s Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SMCR).
