About the Role
We are building the Monzo Co-pilot, an intelligent, proactive ally that handles the complexity of users' financial lives. As a Lead Machine Learning Scientist on the ML Search team, you will build and ship models that help customers search for and find answers about their financial lives, making it effortless for them to find the right products at the exact moment they need them.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship models that help customers search for and find answers about their financial lives.
- Make it effortless for customers to find the right products at the exact moment they need them.
- Develop and deploy advanced ML models to over 15 million customers.
- Build scalable, explainable, and responsible AI solutions that enhance trust, transparency, and the overall customer experience.
- Experiment and innovate with technical approaches to solve customer problems.
- Justify and demonstrate the effectiveness of approaches to meet business and customer needs.
Requirements
- Multiple year track record of excellence leading the development and deployment of advanced Machine Learning models to tackle real business problems, preferably in a fast-moving tech company.
- Experience developing and shipping state-of-the-art ML models to production and delivering business impact.
- Impact driven and excited to own the end-to-end journey from business problem to measurable production impact.
- Self-starter mindset; proactively identify issues and opportunities and tackle them.
- Fluent in Python and extensive, hands-on experience with scikit-learn.
- Comfortable using SQL.
- Keen to learn Go lang.
- Comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity and experience helping teams and stakeholders resolve ambiguity.
- Desire to be involved in building a product that is used every day.
- Product mindset: care about customer outcomes and make data-informed decisions.
- Excited about fast-moving developments in Machine Learning and can communicate these ideas to non-domain colleagues.
- Adaptable, curious, and enjoy learning new technologies and ideas.
