About the Role
Provide support for the Health and Safety team, working closely with colleagues to foster a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
Responsibilities
- Support the consultant team with the delivery of Principal Designer duties in accordance with CDM 2015.
- Attend design risk management throughout design and construction.
- Support the Consultant Team in advising the Project Design Team and client organizations on Health and Safety risk management.
- Support Consultants with critical appraisal of Design Risk Assessments.
- Assist with updating CDM Compliance Registers and completing Design Risk Assessments.
- Assist with the preparation of Health and Safety project documentation.
- Learn key communication skills with contractors, designers, and clients.
- Understand how designers comply with CDM 2015 regulations.
- Assist with the plan, coordinate, and management of the pre-construction phase of projects.
- Assist with the development/review of project pre-construction information.
- Attend construction site CDM Audits to review management arrangements.
- Submission of F10 notification to the HSE.
- Attend design, pre-construction site meetings, and progress meetings.
- Assist in carrying out design risk reviews.
- Provide support to consultants on more complex and challenging projects.
- Assistance with producing and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
- Assist with the review of contractors O&M manuals.
- Assistance with production of Health and Safety Files.
- Take personal responsibility for health and safety.
- Endeavor to improve social and environmental impact.
- Perform any other duties as reasonably required.
Requirements
- Passion for Health and Safety and implementation of the CDM Regulations.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of construction health and safety and CDM Regulations.
- Positive and dynamic attitude.
- Ability to learn and adapt.
- Demonstrate an ability to work to critical deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as the role is client facing.
